When we moved from England to Frogswell almost 14 years ago, there was no garden , only a bare field . Now, sadly, just when the garden is mature, it's time to move on . Stan's work has taken him to Dublin so we are selling up here and moving east. Frogswell is going on the market .

This is a tranquil place in the centre of Mayo , far from the noise and bustle of city life yet only 15 minutes from the county town of Castlebar and 25 minutes from Ballina. The sea is 40 minutes away , the mountains and wilderness of Nephin even less. Around us are green fields and hedgerows filled with wildlife… a tame robin hops on to visitors' hands , siskins, goldfinches and great tits squabble on the bird feeders, taking cover only when the sparrowhawk flies over . This year there is a special excitement… a corncrake is calling in the field next to us . It's the first in this area for many years and my neighbours phone to talk about the bird they haven't heard for such a long time.

A place where you can still leave your doors unlocked at night , where a neighbour will always lend a helping hand, where you can step outside in the morning and breathe pure air .
